A good skillset 'vital for job success'

The main thing employers will look for in a new worker is a good skillset, which takes precedence over all other traits, one expert has noted.
That is the opinion of John Bell, policy editor at ESF-Works.com, who said that the major thing that a job candidate needs to remember is that they must have the correct skills for the jobs they are applying for.
He added: "There are some employers that are doing quite well and they will begin to start recruiting new people. The issue for them is making sure the right skills are available when people come through."
One obstacle for jobseekers is that they are unsure what these skills are, which makes it important for applicants to thoroughly research the industry and illustrate that they have it takes to do the job.
People who believe they are underskilled could also broaden their skillset in order to boost their chances of recruitment success, Mr Bell said.
