Employment market 'being boosted by technology'

The increasing prevalence of technology in modern workplaces is opening up job opportunities for more people than ever before, it has been suggested.
A new Siemens Enterprise Communications report shows that advances in communications mean that workers can now work from anywhere without any logistical issues.
Following a poll of 1,000 people, the company found that 85 per cent of communication devices used for team collaboration are now outside the company headquarters, with these products including smartphones, laptops and mobile phones.
It highlights how workers are increasingly carrying out tasks from different locations across various platforms, said Rob Keenan, head of UK portfolio management, deployment readiness management at Siemens Enterprise Communications.
The expert said that this enables them to conduct face-to-face meetings, team collaborations and creative tasks without having to travel to the office, meaning working life is less restrictive than ever.
He added: "The rise of the anywhere employee has meant the end of the office worker. More than ever, work isn't where you go, it's what you do."
